Points

Points are the currency of Yaalu Rewards. Earn them by scanning Flash Drop QR codes or tapping at NFC terminals in participating businesses. Spend them on exclusive deals or items in the Yaalu Store.

How to Earn Points

Flash Drop QR Codes

Flash Drops are QR codes placed at partner businesses and community events. Each Flash Drop is a race — the faster you scan, the more you earn!

To scan a Flash Drop:

1. Open the Yaalu app and tap the QR scanner button.
2. Point your camera at a Flash Drop QR code.
3. The app will process your scan and show your result.

Ranked Rewards

Each Flash Drop awards points based on how quickly you scan:

Rank	Reward
1st scanner	500 points (Jackpot!)
2nd–5th scanner	50 points each
6th+ scanner	No points — the drop is exhausted

Once 5 people have claimed a Flash Drop, it's done. Keep an eye out for new ones!

Location Requirement

You need to be near the business where the Flash Drop is located to claim it. Make sure you're at the venue when you scan — remote scanning won't work.

Daily Scan Limit

You can scan up to 3 Flash Drops per day. Your remaining scans are shown in the Rewards Hub and on the Wallet page. The limit resets at midnight each day.

Earning at Businesses

You can also earn points by tapping your phone on a Yaalu NFC terminal at participating businesses. Points are calculated based on your purchase amount and the business's rewards rate.

Types of Points

There are two types of points on Yaalu:

• Yaalu Points — A universal currency you can spend on any deal or in the Yaalu Store.
• Business Points — Exclusive points offered by specific businesses, usable only at that business.

When you earn points — whether from Flash Drops or NFC terminals — the type depends on the business's configuration. For a full breakdown, see Business Points.

Points Never Expire

Your points don't have an expiry date. Whether they're Yaalu Points or Business Points, they stay in your wallet until you choose to spend them.

Monthly Leaderboard

Your points earned each month are tracked separately as Monthly Points. These are displayed on the community leaderboard where you can see how you rank against other Yaalu users.

• Monthly points reset on the 1st of each month.
• Your total (lifetime) points balance is unaffected by the monthly reset — you keep all your points for redeeming deals.

Checking Your Balance

Your current points balance is displayed at the top of the Rewards Hub and in your Wallet. You can see:

• Yaalu Points — Your universal points balance, available to spend on any deal or in the Yaalu Store.
• Business Points — Separate balances for each business that offers their own points, shown as individual cards in your Wallet.
• Monthly Points — Points earned this month (used for the leaderboard).
• Scans Remaining — How many Flash Drop scans you have left today.

Transaction History

Every point you earn or spend is recorded in your Wallet under Recent Activity. Each transaction shows:

• The source of the transaction (e.g., Flash Drop or Deal Redemption).
• The number of points.
• A description of the transaction.
• The date and time.

To view your full transaction history, tap the Wallet icon in the Rewards Hub.
